4.5 mile walk along the River Aire and Leeds-Liverpool Canal from Apperley Bridge.

Beginning at Apperley Bridge, the walk teeters along the edges of the River Aire to reach the new housing estate at Horsforth Vale before returning on a charming section of towpath along the Leeds – Liverpool canal. The walk is relatively flat and takes in some beautiful, tranquil countryside. The riverside path is quite narrow in places so there could be some overgrown sections and depending on rainfall in the preceding days it could be muddy, so appropriate footwear and poles are advised. We will aim to stop in the middle of the walk for coffee at Brodie and Flynn in Horsforth Vale, however they do not take bookings so they may be full. They do have outdoor seating, but we will have to see on the day.
