Midweek Walk: 4.5 miles along the River Aire and Leeds-Liverpool Canal from Apperley Bridge

Beginning at Apperley Bridge, the walk teeters along the edges of the River Aire then through the housing estate at Horsforth Vale before returning on a charming section of towpath down the Leeds – Liverpool canal. The walk is relatively flat and takes in some beautiful, tranquil countryside. Although it should be dry underfoot the riverside path is quite narrow in places so there could be some overgrown sections, but I doubt any will be a problem. We will stop for a break in the middle of the walk and if we are fortunate enough to have a dry day the Tiny Tea Room at Rodley will be an option or there is also Brodie and Flynn if an indoor venue is required.
