Midweek walk: approx 5 miles from Apperley Bridge through Cragg Wood to Rodley, returning along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal (390ft ascent and 387ft descent)

Beginning at Apperley Bridge, the walk initially takes us up Harrogate Road to reach Woodlands Drive where we can enjoy some surprisingly rural countryside before entering Cragg Wood and making our way down a lane and across fields to the canal at Rodley. Here we will aim to stop for a coffee at Brodie and Flynn before returning on a charming section of  the Leeds – Liverpool canal towpath. Please note the initial section has some gentle uphill sections, and the walk should take around 2 hours 20. As well as some lovely scenery, there are some stunning properties to admire in a lesser known part of Rawdon. Whilst much of this walk is on quiet roads and good footpaths, there are two sections which could be very muddy, so appropriate footwear and poles are advised. Please be aware that Brodie and Flynn do not take bookings so numbers on this walk are strictly limited to 12.
